What is the first thing that everyone sees when they approach your house? Thats right, the front yard. No matter if it’s family, friends or even business clients or potential buyers, the first thing that jumps out at them is how well your property is kept. What dose the picture above tell you?
When I look at it the first thing I think of is that the people who live in that home are proud, they are organized and clean. They enjoy their home and everything it has to offer and spend a great effort to keep it nice. Chances are the inside of the home is also kept with the same care and attention to detail. Now look at the picture below and do the same thing.

See what I mean now?
When I purchased my home in November 2008 it was my first home. I was told about the rule above “A nice kept yard means a nice kept house” but I was so excited and going crazy from the home search that I ignored it. The front yard of my house was mostly dirt, littered with dog poop here and there, There was one tree that was hacked apart bad by someone who had no business trimming a tree. The rest of the property for the most part mirrored the front yard. Upon entering the house I found little dog litter pads all over the house, most were used and left, the carpet was stained bad and the smell of animal urine was through out the entire house. The bathroom vanity was in the living room and a Jacuzzi tube was where my back lawn now is.

Even the above picture while better still tells people that while the house may look ok the maintenance on the yard is lacking which is a good indication that maintenance on the home may also be lacking. A huge red flag for a potential buyer in today’s market.
Have no fear though, this repeats it’s self many times over but is not always the case. Some people pour so much love into their home that they just dont have time to enjoy a nice yard to0 go with it. Even the yard above can look great with minimal maintenance. White Company takes pride in making your yard look great so you can enjoy it without breaking your back doing it yourself. After all I know as well as everyone that it’s much nicer spending time with your family on a nicely cut and landscaped yard than spending all your free time trying to obtain it by your own hands.
